Rick Springfield coming to Kewadin!

Sault Ste. Marie, MI – Rick Springfield, pop rock star who sold over19 million records with a whopping 17 to 40-hits throughout his musical career, will perform in the DreamMakers Theater at Kewadin Casinos on March 21, 2013 at 7 p.m.!  Tickets are on sale Friday Jan. 4 for $38.50 & $35.

The Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Rick Springfield released his newest album Venus In Overdrive in 2008.  The album is Rick’s first full-length new studio work of original material since the 2003 critically acclaimed shock/denial/anger/acceptance.  More upbeat and fun than the dark and introspective shock/denial/anger/acceptance, Venus In Overdrive marks a return to Rick’s pop/rock roots. Venus In Overdrive is simultaneously classic and current.  A creative collaboration between Rick and his longtime bass player Matt Bissonette, Venus In Overdrive was recorded in its entirety in only 32 days.

In mid-1972, Rick relocated to the United States. He had a No. 1 hit with "Jessie's Girl" in 1981 in both Australia and the US. He received the Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for "Jessie's Girl". He followed with four more top 10 US hits, "I've Done Everything for You", "Don't Talk to Strangers", "Affair of the Heart" and "Love Somebody". His two US top 10 albums are Working Class Dog (1981) and Success Hasn't Spoiled Me Yet (1982). As an actor, he portrayed Dr. Noah Drake on the daytime drama General Hospital, from 1981 to 1983 and during 2005 to 2008. In 2010, Springfield published his autobiography, Late, Late at Night: A Memoir.
