One of country’s hottest stars coming to Kewadin Casinos
2011 Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Chris Young, performing Aug. 30
Sault Ste. Marie, MI – Current American Country Award winner for Breakthrough Artist of the Year & Single of the year for “Voices” and 2012 ACM Nominee for Male Vocalist of the Year & Single Record of the Year for “Tomorrow”, Chris Young, will perform in Kewadin Casinos DreamMakers Theater on August 30. Tickets for the show go on sale May 28.
Young released the single "Tomorrow", in February 2011. It became his fourth straight #1. The album Neon was released in July 2011. His latest single "You" became his fifth straight number one single.
The last four singles Young released have all hit #1 on the charts, including "Tomorrow" and the smash hit "Gettin' You Home," a song that earned him his first-ever Grammy nomination. All signs are pointing skyward as NEON debuted at #4 on the all genre Billboard Top 200 chart with more than 72,000 first week fans declaring their devotion to Young. The media has given him glowing reviews in USA Today, People, Associated Press and Billboard in addition to high profile TV appearances on Good Morning America, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Fox & Friends.
Young’s country music career began in 2006 when he was declared the winner of the television program Nashville Star, a singing competition which aired on the USA Network. After winning, he was signed to RCA Records Nashville, releasing his self-titled debut album that year. It produced two singles on Hot Country Songs: "Drinkin' Me Lonely" and "You're Gonna Love Me". A second album, The Man I Want to Be, was released September 1, 2009. It included the singles "Voices", "Gettin' You Home (The Black Dress Song)", and "The Man I Want to Be"; all three reached #1 on the country singles chart.
